Diesel - Hydrodesulfurization System(DHS)

Mainly used for removing sulfur in diesel fuel to improve the environmental performance of the fuel.

Process Design:

The process design of diesel hydrodesulfurization includes four main steps: pretreatment, hydrogenation reaction, desulfurization reaction and reprocessing.

1. Pre-treatment

Pre-treatment is mainly to pre-treat the raw diesel fuel to remove impurities and harmful components such as heavy metals. Common pretreatment steps include dehydration, desulfurization, denitrification and de-dusting. These steps can be accomplished by physical and chemical methods, such as the use of technologies such as adsorbent materials, catalysts and membrane separation.

2. Hydrogenation

Hydrogenation reaction is the core step of diesel HDS, which is mainly carried out by contacting the hydrogenating agent with the diesel fuel at a certain temperature and pressure, so as to make it undergo a chemical reaction. Common hydrogenating agents include hydrogen, paraffin and cobalt-molybdenum catalysts. In the hydrogenation reaction, sulfide is reduced to form hydrogen sulfide, thus realizing the removal of sulfur from diesel fuel.

3. Desulfurization

Desulfurization is a process to further treat the residual hydrogen sulfide in the hydrogenation reaction product. Common desulfurization reaction methods include absorption, adsorption and chemical reaction. Among them, absorption involves dissolving hydrogen sulfide in a suitable solvent, while adsorption involves adsorption of hydrogen sulfide molecules using adsorbents. Chemical reaction, on the other hand, involves the reaction of other components of diesel fuel with hydrogen sulfide to convert it into harmless substances.

4. Reprocessing

Reprocessing consists mainly of the separation and purification of reaction products. Common post-treatment technologies include distillation, extraction and precipitation. These techniques can further purify the desulfurized diesel fuel to meet the fuel standard requirements.
